KUSA – Local artist, David Uhl, was selected by the organizers of the Indianapolis 500 to draw the program cover for the 100th running of the race.
“It’s a real honor for me to do this,” Uhl said. “It’s been 100 years, and it’s an American iconic event, and I love this type of thing.”
Uhl was selected from artists all over the world vying for the honor. He spent many hours researching old photos and film to come up with just the right interpretation and drawing.
What’s next for Uhl? He’s working on a piece featuring Theodore Roosevelt and Harley Davidson.
